Books
The book collection, which includes more than 80.000 books, has a profoundly political-historical specialization.
As regard the acquisition, enhancement and recovery of texts, materials and documents, the collection is particularly focused on: study on contemporary history, political and philosophical thought in the end of the 19th century and 20th century, social and economic history of Italy and Europe, contemporary history of Bologna and the Region of Emilia-Romagna. Furthermore, a particular attention is paid to: sources and study on the political thought of the Italian and European Left in the 20th century, on the Italian political and social movements from the post-World War II to the present day and on the political communication and propaganda.
Among the most interesting collections, we highlight the publications on Antonio Gramsci and others written by him; the large collection of pamphlets concerning the birth of the Democratic and Socialist Italian Movement and the political and trade-union Associationism of the Italian Left; the collection of texts on policy, history and publishing which comes from Libreria Palmaverde di Roberto Roversi.
Another significant collection is la ‘collana del Canguro’ of L’Universale economica.
